About us

Pu'u O Hoku is a family-owned ranch that seeks above all to conserve the bountiful natural resources of Molokai. We believe that the fact that Molokai is “underdeveloped” is a good thing, in that it points the way forward to a spiritual, sustainable relationship between the land of Hawaii and its diverse human occupants.

We have worked hard to develop ecological farming practices and are proud to support local community sustainability and cultural preservation issues.

About us

Some of the initiatives we are involved in to foster environmental health and sustainability on greater Molokai:

Hawaiian Nene goose reintroduction: Pu'u O Hoku has partnered with the state of Hawaii to reintroduce the Nene, Hawaii’s endangered state bird, to Molokai. Eighty pair of breeding geese grace the skies and often visit the lodge lawn!

Hawaiian Monk Seal: We are part of Molokai's effort to protect our endemic seal, which can often be seen sunning on the lonelier beaches at the Ranch.

Native Plant Reintroduction: Whenever possible, we work to protect and reintroduce Hawaii’s delicate native plant species.
