Stay With Us

Pu'u O Hoku offers a unique getaway for travelers seeking a rustic retreat. You can hike, swim, stargaze, surf, and see a working ranch in action. Pu'u O Hoku is one of the few places in the islands where you can feel Hawaii as it once was — where the only sounds are the wind and the roar of the ocean, and the only lights are the stars.

Unwind & Unplug with the beauty of Hawaii

We have several options for accommodations, ranging from our lodge, ideal for large groups and retreats, to smaller cottages perfect for families or couples. The lodge and cottages are built in the 1930s in classic Hawaiian ranch style, furnished with Balinese and Hawaiian wood and textiles, feature sweeping views of the tropical landscape, the ocean, and Maui, and are just a short drive from the black-sand beaches of Halawa Valley. We can also arrange for fresh produce boxes and fresh beef or venison for you to cook during your stay!

Our cottages do not have wifi, allowing guests to truly unwind and get closer to the spectacular nature around them. There is a wifi hotspot for use near the ranch office, but usually our guests tell us that being disconnected is one of their favorite parts of being at Puu O Hoku.

Sunrise Cottage

On the hill above the bustle of the ranch, surrounded by tropical gardens, with panoramic windows offering views over the bluffs to the ocean, the Sunrise Cottage is perfect for romantic getaways or small groups. Master bedroom with a double bed, second bedroom with two twins, spacious living and dining room, fully-equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, and a shaded lanai.

$350 per night for a maximum of 4 persons and a $195 non-refundable cleaning fee.

The lodge features a majestic great room with rough cut wood beams, a lava rock fireplace, a library and sitting areas, a certified commercial kitchen, and a shaded lanai. The lodge has hosted retreats, seminars, workshops, board meetings, as well as many family reunions and small intimate weddings; as an all-inclusive offering, we provide a local cook to cater a specially-designed menu for your group using local produce, and can also arrange activities such as hikes, music, and cultural demonstrations.
